Happy to take this :) Will post my comments within a week. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 12:40, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Annki777: This nom might have to be quick failed, but I will keep this open for response from your side for a week. There are several issues that need to be fixed before a proper review can be done: Sainsf (talk · contribs) 07:42, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Copyvio: While these two [1] [2] look like copies of the Wiki article rather than the other way round, these [3] [4] [5] look like worrying instances of plagiarism.
  • Prose and coverage: Lead does not comply with WP:MOSLEAD, quite a lot of sections that could do better with expansion ('People from Surat' looks totally unnecessary)
  • Sourcing: Citations need proper formatting (The City Mayors Foundation, an international think tank on urban affairs. [3] see this), inline citations lacking in lots of places.

Failing due to a week of inactivity and lots of issues. Sainsf (knock knock · am I there?) 06:54, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to add that Surat was where the British (the East India Company) first arrived in India, on August 24, 1600. Source: Freedom at Midnight (Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, 1975) p. 10 172.74.167.117 (talk) 20:08, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
